My new Roots Magic Generated website!

This link goes to my family history.

this is to Brian's family.

Aunt Ruby

I have begun going through Aunt Ruby's documents in depth. I have found several useful items so far. It was kind of eye opening to think about her doing research on someone who I counted as "nonessential" and she was researching as her grandmother's sister. It really doesn't take very many generations to become non-direct does it?

Today in My Family

Today is my grandson's fourth birthday.
He was so excited for his birthday he was singing happy birthday to everyone and everything. That got me to thinking about the family birthdays he shared. So I went to my Roots Magic and printed out a calendar of events for today. Jayce shares his birthday with Frank Stinehart who would have been 146 today, Thomas T Omvig younger at age 140, Whelma Marie Schmidt age 102, John B. Gearhart 184, Bernice Isabel Chaplin 110, and William Loren Ayers 124.

He is an amazingly happy and interesting young man and definitely has some traits of his ancestors. He is a story teller like his great, great Grandpa White!

Updating the binders.

This is a photo of some of my research my binders. As my sister has stated, I may be crazy. I have been spending a lot of time organizing and updating my binders. I have updated their covers with personalized photos. I am now updating the dividers in my binders with a personalized, tab divider page. I am hoping this lends more authority and importance to my research after I am gone. I have also been updated my citations, so on.

Cousin bait

I have heard much from genealogy friends about "cousin bait". I never really thought that this blog would attract any attention,  however, this week I received an email from a relative on the west coast. She is my second cousin once removed. Her grandmother was my mother's cousin. Her grandma and aunt always came to visit my Grandparents and I remember spending many hours with them playing cards and actually doing some crafting. It was so nice to know that my feeble attempts at blogging actually made a connection with someone.

This is a picture of Fran of my mother, two of her brothers, a cousin of mine, and Fran's daughter.
